    • Items "specially designed" or specifically designed for enumerated items or applications (catch-all)
    • Parts, components, accessories, etc.

The ITAR likewise controls Technical Information (ITAR 120.x):

  • Data required for the blueprint, development, production, manufacture, associates, operation, repair, testing, maintenance or modification of defense articles.
  • This includes data in the form of blueprints, drawings, photographs, plans, instructions and documentation
  • Software direct related to defense articles

The ITAR controls Defence force Services (ITAR 120.9), providing services related to items on the USML

Exemptions from Registration

There are 4 exemptions from this registration requirement, listed in ITAR 122.1(b)

    • Officers of U.S. Government
    • Only produce unclassified tech information
    • All activities covered past Atomic Energy Act

Registration Guidelines
